Chapter Text

George walked into AP Chem with flushed cheeks and a developing bruise on his collarbone. Just minutes before, Dream had pulled him out of his study hall and into one of the few bathrooms in the school that could lock. They’d been so caught up in one another that George had just barely managed to get to his class on time. The second that he had stepped through the door, George could see Karl’s eyes go directly to the messed up neckline of his t-shirt. He’d shot George a quizzical look, and was subsequently ignored in favor of George making it to his seat on time.

The lesson was slow, slower than George would have liked, and his mind kept straying from whatever equation the teacher was explaining to Dream. They’d been together for barely a week at this point, but George was already head over heels. In an attempt to look like he was paying attention, George dug his teeth into his lip, immediately feeling a slight burn considering his lips had been rather… occupied less than an hour ago. Karl glanced over at his sharp intake of breath, giving him a knowing glance, before he turned back around to pay attention to the teacher.

Internally, George cursed. He knew that making out with Dream during school hours wasn’t a good idea, but the second that Dream’s lips touched the column of George’s neck, he was completely gone. All rational thought had been thrown out the window in favor of the burning press of Dream. They’d been found out much quicker than they’d been expecting, considering that they hated each other approximately 2 months ago.

“Okay, I know there’s still a few minutes to the bell, but I’ve finished with what I can teach you today. So, you’re free to chat with your friends until you’re dismissed. Just don’t crowd the door,” the teacher’s words of completion had made George zone back in, and out of the corner of his eye he could see Karl practically leaping up from his desk.

“What do you want, Jacobs,” George sighed, turning slightly to start shoving his binder back into his backpack.

“You’re still looking mighty flushed for someone who was just coming from a study hall. Gym, I could understand, but god,” Karl gave him a knowing look, “What on earth could you have been up to.”

“Cut the shit, Karl, what do you want?”

“Yeesh, can’t I just inquire about the redness of my friends' cheeks in peace?”

“You clearly know something, so just spit it out or shut up,” George zipped up his bag, lifting it onto the desk.

“My, my, you’re mighty snippy today. Makeout session with Dream get cut short?”

“You’re the worst kind of person, how did you even find out?”

Karl blinked, glancing between George’s eyes and his lips, “Wait, what the fuck. I was right?”

“You’re kidding, I thought you knew!”

“I was just messing with you! Oh my god, you were really making out with Dream?” Karl bounced on the balls of his feet, clapping his hands together at George’s nod, “Oh my god, Sam owes me twenty bucks.”

“You were fucking betting on our relationship status?” George slammed his head on his desk. Before Karl could get a concrete answer out, he was interrupted by the bell signalling the passing period. One second, George was putting his backpack on, and the next Karl was gone.

* * *

They were late. They were so fucking late, and so fucking screwed. During the 45 minutes between school and practice, Dream decided to drive George to his house to get some snacks. Somehow, they’d ended up on the couch in Dream’s basement, heavily making out. An alarm had gone off, to warn them that they needed to leave if they were expected to arrive to practice on time, but Dream had reached over his shoulder and shut it off without even taking his eyes off of George.

That was how they found themselves speeding across town, desperately trying to make it seem less like they hadn’t been halfway to having sex in Dream’s basement 10 minutes before. It seemed like this was going to become a pattern for them, George doing this to keep them on time to things, like trying to dissuade Dream from making out with him during school hours, or setting an alarm so they wouldn’t be late, and Dream absolutely ignoring them in favor of making out.

Dream’s parking job was less than superb, and on a normal day, George would have been all over him about it, but he was sprinting out of the car before Dream had the keys out of the ignition. When he turned the corner to the practice field, he found the entire band sitting in a circle on the ground.

“How nice of you to finally join us, George!” Sapnap called, standing up from his place in the circle.

“What were you up to?” Ant asked, giving George a once over at his approach.

“Shut up,” George hissed, hearing heavy feet on the asphalt behind him.

“First, you show up flushed and mussed up to AP Calc, now you’re late to practice? Were you… perhaps… stargazing?” Karl called, raising his eyebrows.

“Shut up.”

“Wow, why are you all sitting in a cult circle?” Dream asked, walking into practice apprehensively.

“Oh, you know, just waiting for our drum major to show up. I told Phil you two were missing and he just sighed and told me to come get him when you inevitably showed up,” Sapnap hummed, “Anyways, I say you admit it now and save yourself any further embarrassment. What possible reason could the two of you have to walk into practice fifteen minutes late, together?”

“We were making out in Dream’s basement,” George mumbled, barely audible to himself.

“Sorry, I don’t think I heard that.”

“We were making out in Dream’s basement!”

“Wow… shame on you. That’s two laps for both of you. One for being late and one because you should have set an alarm,” Sapnap tutted.

“We did have an alarm set, I just ignored it,” Dream snickered, causing George to slap his bicep.

“So. Now that that’s over with. Get your asses up. It’s time to practice.”
