George knew perfectly the difference between a mating partner and his best friend completely platonic.
The problem started when it became slightly too platonic.
The second semester of the career was just so annoying.
They weren't even near the summer holidays but George already needed a rest. All he's been doing these days is burying his face in books like he always did.
Locked in his room, he had been busy studying to his finals and trying to be prepared to start his third year and Sapnap certainly called him from time to time to remind him that he is overreacting and say how much of a nerd he is for wanting to be ahead of his academic schedule.
And Sapnap was certainly right, George was overreacting, but he couldn't help it, he wanted to avoid to even think about what was at the other side of the door.
Two small knocks sound.
"Can you open?"
George hated that voice.
But, how did he got in this situation? His roommate outside of his bedroom for 3 days now, surely with an awful look, how could've him done that?
But the real problem started 4 months ago.
It was normal, perfect, platonic.

Frankly, Dream thought this mission was a bogus, piece-of-shit request. Capture not one, but TWO Jedi from an evil gangster syndicate deep in Hutt Space? AND they have a wretched clone trooper in need of saving too? The costs of this mission have to outweigh his crew’s desires of safety with the Galactic Republic, so Dream has to ask himself: is all of this really worth it?
With the odds stacked against the crew of the Spirit, and Quackity’s threats looming over their heads, Dream starts to wonder if life as a bounty hunter truly reflects the payout; or is he selling his soul too cheaply into the horrors of the Galaxy’s clutches?

George’s eyes momentarily flew shut as he felt bright lights streaming down at him, and it was only when they somewhat adjusted again that they saw a familiar sight before him. The Paris Opera fully booked out. But that couldn’t be, the performance had just ended, why was there a new audience, and new dancers here already?
“Ladies and Gentlemen," a sudden voice announces. It felt like it was all around him as George felt himself flinching, the stares he received not going unnoticed. “It is a pleasure to introduce the Paris Opera Ballet student company and budding class of 2025.”
George felt his blood run cold. “2025?” He said in shock, more to himself than anyone else. They couldn’t possibly mean the year.
It was 1805. 2025 was still over two hundred years away.

He had been teased and cajoled by many an Alpha, he had been pranced across dance floors and hidden in the center of huge clusters aimed to protect. His eyes are yellow, but George guesses that they are green seeing as yellow eyes weren’t really a thing. His lips were partly opened, with a slight glossy-ness from him having licked them a few seconds ago as he turned around.

George knew that he was good enough to win. It wasn’t hard to be confident about it—not when he was looking at his statistics, not when he clicked into his skis, and definitely not when he was racing down the hill so fast, he almost felt like he was flying.
But despite his confidence, despite everyone agreeing that he was overdue for a win, George had been damned to almost-win and never actually-win.
So he thought himself pretty reasonable for despising Dream. Who wouldn’t hate the guy who so often cut his own time down just a few hundreds of a second, who so often snatched the top spot for himself?
No charming smile would change how George felt about his rival. And no earnest compliments, whispered where the press couldn’t hear them. Neither would accepting Dream’s invitation to an after-race-party.
