Summary
LJ DCBB 2012. Post-Swan Song AU. It’s just your run-of-the-mill monster hunt until Castiel suddenly powers down and loses all his mojo faster than a hooker siphoning petrol from the back of a customer’s truck. Completely lacking any sort of answer as to what the hell is going on, Team Free Will hole up within the safe confines of Bobby’s house, where at the very least there are books, tools, and a steady supply of peppermint tea. It’s pretty damn inconvenient, to be honest - Dean’s already got enough on his plate trying to work out his place in the aftermath of a very anticlimactic Apocalypse, without also having to babysit an angel who is on a daily basis growing ever weaker, sicker, and, by all indications, gayer than a maypole — thanks to Sam’s musical influence. However, as freak snowstorms pin them in place, and as days turn into weeks with no new answers, there are certain truths which must be confronted: that Dean’s frustration runs deeper than cabin fever, that there is a darkness inside Castiel rattling to rear its ugly head, and that the evil seeping into every crevice and corner of Bobby’s house is only getting started.

Summary
Dean Winchester hadn’t lead an exciting life or a particularly good one but he’d always tried to do what was right, especially when it came to his little brother, even going so far as to take the blame for a crime he didn’t commit. Now with his brother a big shot at college and no prospects of his own, he takes a job from an eccentric man named Gabriel until he can get himself together. He meets and becomes fast friends with Castiel, a mysterious man with a dark troubling past.
But Dean and Castiel’s budding relationship is soon threatened by Dean’s commitments in California, and the arrival of a known gangster named Crowley, who’s determined to have Castiel as his own...as well as his wings.

Summary
Working at his family's private security firm in Maryland, Dean Winchester is frustrated by his current desk assignment as well as how little he sees his live-in boyfriend, Castiel Adler. When Cas is hurt during one of his audits, Dean is stunned to find out just how much distance has grown between them. Now he must find a way to bridge that gap while keeping Cas safe.
"But Dean was a protector. He had no qualms about protecting his family or dishing out a little Winchester justice. All of them were like that, even Sam underneath his polished appearance and law degree. The Winchesters were wild and fierce, and Cas loved that about Dean, except for those times, like now, when it made him feel so small."
