It makes perfect sense! The whole journey going from fear to him becoming a dear friend is so emotionally gut wrenching for me 🥹 Despite being so alive, NC feels like it's full of lonely people. Ohhh can I ask what ending you chose?
And yesss, same as you, I got so addicted to both Johnny and River too! My favorite side quest was The Hunt, the mission got me so anxious 😂 I also love his softness, his need to be just, even if its so much easier to be angry or tired.
And yeah, I just kept on daydreaming about River's scene, and how I wanted to see more of his perspective in the story. I also wanted to see highlight their differences, with River being the positive voice, and V the jaded one, despite being the younger one 😅
I think Star ending is my favorite but I didnt like the idea of risking Panam's and her clans life, it was out of character of my V. Plus River ditched her in that ending and it didnt sit right with me. So my V went Mikoshi with Rogue and Johnny and took her body back. She would have gone in alone with Johnny but i didn't have the right dialog selection in the oil field 🫠 She honestly didn't care about being a legend but CDPR left her no choice in that ending 😅
Giving the body to Johnny was too heartbreaking to me. In my head cannon Johnny would suffer so much from emptiness without V that he'd not even survive 6 months, so i wouldn't choose that either.
Its exactly the reason I like River too, I guess the same reason for anyone who likes him. Of course he's a little different in everyone's imagination so im always curious to read how others imagine him. To my V, he was an anchor and he was a family. He countered my V's pessimism and softened her tough edges. He symbolized hope and calmness.
And ofc im also very curious to read how your V is like!
