I am a horror writer at heart, so I love getting to dive into suspenseful and horrifying themes. I really wanted to show off Eileen and the other people in the cage with her as just being normal, everyday people and that this can literally happen to anyone.
I've always wondered what the Wizarding World would look like from an outside perspective, especially at this point in time where dark magic users are allowed to be as horrible as they want.
I'm glad you like the morally gray side of Snape I tried to portray in here. I love how layered and complex he is as a character. He was horribly bullied as a kid, but also horribly bullied other kids and when he was an adult, he still bullied children. I won't excuse his behavior, but he has done so many good things as well. And this period of time seemed to be the most turbulent in his life for morality. I'm so happy you like my iteration of him and can't wait to see what you think if you decide to read the next chapter (when I get around to writing it of course.)
