Would Julius really do that though? Wouldn't that go against all of his life, being the finest of knights.
I mean we have a very similar scene in one of the failed loops of arc6. Subaru is surrounded by herds of mabeasts and dozens of Hungry Horse kings. And mabeasts bite just like these zombies. Yet Julius launched himself in between them and sacrificed himself to save Subaru.
He did so because he genuinely trust Subaru to be able to save everyone including his liege Anastasia. He considers Subaru much more reliable than himself even though Subaru is weaker than Julius. And now that strength aspect has become irrelevant, Subaru's reliability will only increase in his eyes.
I can only think that maybe Julius is too much traumatised by hearing the screams of dying. Otherwise it doesn't make sense.
Yes my brother you got it. Like for reference the undead in this fic kills and eat peoples the same way as the undead from "The dawn of the dead". No one I mean absolutely no one in Re:zero would take such a risk except they were running on emotion and didn't count the aftermath or it is Reinhardt and Subaru himself....Subaru has a 90/10 chance of saving julius if their roles were to be switched but he hey he still will save him you know. I am really glad that you understood why exactly Julius did this thing. Like he knew they ain't worth the risk. He didn't want Anastasia have any chance of dying at their hand.
