If I could, I would sign up to join the Aredhel protection squad. Good that they are taking it seriously. And I'm also glad that Celegorm remembers his vows to protect her and Maeglin. I feel he's grown up quite a bit; they all have, since war and violence really does change a person.
I also have to agree with Allison; the characters really do feel alive. Especially that last bit with Fingolfin and Findelwen. Immensely proud but also terrified and angry their child would do something so dangerous and reckless. But also understanding why they had to do it. I think my favorite moment so far is with Feanor and Nerdanel singing to Maedhros. I'd probably cry too if I was that injured and the first kind voices I hear are my parents.
And Galadriel is really starting to find her place, I think. Living in Thingol and Melian's court will be a good learning experience for her. And she gets to be with that silver-haired Sindar that she likes XD
Yeah, Celegorm and all his cousins (and their children) have grown up fast due to all the violence and loss they have experienced so far. I wasn't planning to write a scene with Fingolfin and Findelwen, my original plan was to end the chapter with the council being dismissed, but then I tought it would be good to adress how Fingolfin feels about his daughter's ordeal, as I already focused a lot on how Fëanor and Nerdanel are feeling about their own son's suffering.
