You probably wrote it already somewhere, but Hailey taking care of Bridget helps not only Jay (Hailey is here) but Hailey (she can make sure Jay doesn't stress - she's here)
I have the image of Jay's teammates teasing him for spending all his free time on the phone with his girl. In a big-siblings kid of way: she's obviously good for him, given the situation with his mother, and Jay is a great kid, so they only wish him good. But they still have to tease him, because that's what big siblings do.
It’s a good trade! Jay worries less about his mom, they all worry a little bit less about Jay.
Meanwhile he is getting ROASTED (lovingly) by his teammates for the amount of time he spends on the phone in general.
