I mean if you want to refer to meta aspects you could base her power on aspects of story telling. Maybe her ability to take over bodies could be based on POV! after all she is experiencing everything first handed.
So maybe not true meta, but abilities that reassemble meta and make her doubt the nature of reality (but never being sure or acknolodged as true in story). An character struggle!
Doubting the nature of reality is to important of a trait for Monika to lack in my opninion, so i think having a quirk that makes her doubt reality is a cool way to incorporate that trait without getting meta.
This fic is mostly inspired by MHA and the DDLC side stories as opposed to the main game, so I can definitely say that while Monika's nihilism will probably come up, it isn't going to be the main focus of the story. Rather, I decided to (when discussing Monika in particular) focus on her perfectionist tendencies and self doubt. Still, you've certainly given me an idea or two of POV-fuckery I can pull that can, to some extent, feed into both, so thank you for that! And for leaving a comment!
