Comment on Ego Culpa

  1. I'll comment in more depth later....
Okay, um... i went on longer than I meant to but I hope that clears up the approach to the angels' reactions, etc, a little bit?

LOL yes that does clear things up. I hadn't thought about Gabriel's perspective being skewed, but of course it would be. He's likely been terrorizing his underlings for millennia, of course he'd be oblivious to their true feelings on most subjects. He doesn't care about their true feelings on most subjects, he probably just wants them to fear and obey. So his assumption that no passing angel would care is...probably not actually true.

it's not that no one thinks it's wrong. It's that those who DO realize it's wrong, in many cases, kept their mouths shut and their heads down out of fear or selfishness or both.
Yes! Like Tenneh. It's like that old quote, The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. I love these themes so much. Prejudice impacts every single character, and none of them seem to realize it.

I've got to say, I'm also a fan of the way even the most black and white characters have shades of gray running through them. Aziraphale causally murdering the disposable demon, and Gabriel confronting the bullies like some kind of demented knight in shining armor come to mind.

    1. ABSOLUTELY like that quote, had that exact quote in mind <3

I'm really glad you like the complexity/shades of gray, that's a goal I always strive for <3
