I'm glad my intentions for Lily & James' characters came across well. They're terrific people, and to paint them as monsters abandoning their child never sat well with me. It's also completely unnecessary as parents' giving up their Squib children, and people mistakenly believing children to be Squibs is already an established mechanism in canon.
Yeah, Harry's in for a lot of grief. Probably too much. People tend to think I'm sadistic to my protagonists, but I think it's character-building characterization.
The Obscurus aspect is going to be a major if underlying theme throughout the story. It won't be at the forefront at all times, but it will be ever-present and the catalyst behind many significant events.
I can't wait to get to the Hogwarts years, I'm tempted to skip straight to them, but it wouldn't work for what I have planned.
Likewise, with Rose, her character will be fun to explore. Lots of potential there, and I think it will be fairly unique for the trope.
