    1. Super! I can show you the text I'll be using (below). Let me know if that's okay. At the moment you're pencilled in for May 1st, although dates do sometimes change if other authors have book launches etc. And thank-you!

      running_in_circles: Growing Pains

Hetalia: Axis Powers is a manga series in which various countries are personified as characters. Today on Irish Fiction Friday, we wanted to bring you an interesting piece of fanfiction that uses the characters of Ireland, Northern Ireland and England to discuss how the series might have portrayed The Troubles that Ireland has seen. As running_in_circles comments in their notes on the history of the Troubles. ‘This is a very complicated period of history which I have only summarised here. This fanfic isn't meant to be inflammatory or suggestive of any sort of politics, it is merely headcanon.’ However this piece is interesting. Science Fiction often strives to interpret and understand contemporary events from different angles, as well as to celebrate and encourage diverse readings of the present, through the lens of other worlds or futurescapes. This piece is therefore and indicative, useful part of that trend.

Note: If you wish to discuss this piece, please keep to the spirit of Fanfiction. Please leave your comments on the webpage itself and remember that the author will read them. Be constructive and thoughtful in your comments, and remember that this is fan writing. The opinions are those of the author and should be respected. Please also respect that the contribution to Hetalia: Axis Powers fan canon does not have to slavishly follow aspects of the origin series. And don’t forget to leave the author kudos via the button on the site!
