    1. I love that subversion of the trope! And biologically, there’s a good precedent for this! Studies have shown that homosexual individuals actually prefer the smell of Other homosexuals over that of the opposite sex as well as heterosexual members of the same sex, so it makes sense that alpha attracted alphas would follow similar rules!

      1. Gosh this is so interesting and I genuinely love things like this! Have you ever heard of the major histocompatability complex? It has many many functions but one of the functions is in mate selection for vertebrates through olfacation which allows us to essentially “sniff out” the most compatible mate for us through their sweat as they would have the most diverse set of genes — meaning their genes are almost entirely opposite to us and that our offspring would therefore have a greater chance of survival which the mixture of our DNA. I would honestly look it up I am doing it no justice. But smell plays a MASSIVE part in attraction and pheromones literally exist and we have chemoreceptors in our brain !!

        1. Actually, it doesn’t look for the most opposite genes, rather, it lookS for the most diverse in terms of immunocomposition! So partners with an immune system that best compliments our own smell best! That also, apparently, factors Into sexual orientation, which is wild!
