    By any chance, have you read "And The Clock Ticks Ever Onwards" by bipping which is the only other decently written MadoHomu role swap fic I'm aware of.

    Also wouldn't Madoka here be ridiculously overpowered given the scale of her karmic potential?

      I recall the name, but I don't think I have actually read it. As for Madoka's OP-ness, she actually will not be. I didn't mention it because this is just going to be an abridged version of the idea, but this Madoka is supposed to be from loop ~25, and therefore doesn't have the immense karmic potential of her anime appearance. That and the way I see it, regular Madoka sort of min-maxes the strength of her bow while this one has to split that power between the bow and shield for the sake of flexibility. Thus, the bow isn't as powerful as it would be anyways. So she is OP compared to the original Homura, but not her anime appearance or definitely walpy.
