  1. "Holmes mentioned a number of times, usually alongside the words "tosser" and "fucking arsehole.""
I never contemplated the general public's view of Sherlock pre-John but, yes, I can see him inspiring those kinds of responses!

"Just a general disdain for humanity, not bigotry. Why does that feel like such a relief?"
Poor John, not really a part of either world. Slightly odd, pitied, treated as missing something. Sherlock treating everyone with equal contempt being a relief sadly makes perfect sense.

"It's clear at this point that Sherlock and sanity are not on the same page, perhaps not even in the same book. And John is excited about this stupid plan, so what does that say about his metaphysical location?"
That John Watson, no matter what reality he is in, will always fling himself into danger, especially when with Sherlock Holmes!

"It seems to be Sherlock's modus operandi when dealing with common sense: just ignore it and perhaps it will go away."
A perfect and utterly hilarious line. Sums up Sherlock rather well!

The part where John smoothly moves from the routine of cleaning his gun through to the details of the times he has put it in his mouth and detailed what would happen if he fired is so clinical and precise that it is chillingly scary. Made me hold my breath as I read it!

Neat insertion into the Potter world with well drawn characters, a while background story hovering with the Auroras, as well as extra confrontation, and an exciting plot as well! Thoroughly enjoyable chapter!
