Ayyy hello again! Thanks so much! ^^ I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Honestly you came up with such a cool concept, and my writer brain just took it and ran with it lmao. So thank you for the inspiration! That little bit at the end is mostly there because in most Grian Joins Hermitcraft fics, people tend to either forget that Mumbo and Grian knew each other before he joined HC or they don't count it as part of canon. I tend to write/headcanon them in as having a friendship prior to Evo, with adds a whole 'nother layer to the whole Watcher thing. (Did Mumbo know he was missing? Did he look for him? Did they just fall out of contact and he never questioned it?) And since you mentioned Grian's wings were a Watcher thing and therefore didn't exist before then...well. Mumbo was bound to notice a difference, wasn't he? ;) Living on a server full of hybrids, he may have brushed it off as nothing for a while. But now, with the feathers and the colors and everything...I wonder how long it would take for him to get an answer from Grian about where his wings came from in the first place...?
(...you know that's a good question actually. Do you think the other Hermits know what Watchers are? Or that Grian had a history with them? Hm. You've got me thinking now lol)
