Man I fucking love this premise! This is awesome and I can't wait to see where this goes, especially since it brings up how quirk focused the hero system is when Torino and Toshi come from environments where it was less pure entertainment industry and more anything goes. The idea of Aizawa expelling Mido because of the QUIRK assessment on the FIRST DAY would be very useful for highlighting that heroes are and should be more than their quirks.
I'm enjoying the world building and history you have here, especially by giving Mido such an evaluative and interesting perspective on history that will make him much more layered. I'm also really looking forward to seeing Mido get a PI license and consult on cases and build relationships with the police, etc.
I can't wait to see how the other characters develop and are shown with nuance that makes sense. I really hope to see a significant amount of Iida, since I think he was a very interesting and complex character that is so often reduced to simplistic stereotyping. This version of Mido in particular would be so interesting to see interact with Iida, since it would challenge the latter's accepted understanding of history and morality and Mido would gain a stalwart friend. Plus, I've always wanted to see a fic where Iida and Torino train together.
Anyway, I love where this seems to be going and I cannot wait for the next instalment!! Oh also Mido's rambling was charming, easy to follow, and informative and interesting.
