Oh wow, thank you so much! I wasn’t expecting such a long comment so early on. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Yeah, some aspects of this really aren’t roleswap consequences and just me kinda messing around with the lore. Crazy to think this whole thing started because I saw some Sokai roleswap fanart and thought “someone should make a fanfic about this” and decided to take matters into my own hands. Then it became a Sokai and Rokushi roleswap with a new Naminé origin story, then I made something up with Ventus and Aqua that could significantly change their arcs, and from there I just decided to do whatever regardless if it was a roleswap or not, which included giving (almost) everyone parents, creating a magic system, fleshing out the worldbuilding of various original worlds, and yes, creating and/or changing lore so my story would work better. Or just because I felt it’d be very weird for Riku to wield Destiny’s Embrace, so Keyblade lore had to change. It was a really fun process, and one I’m looking forward to sharing more of the results. Also, you are right, it is Vader. As you may have also realized from my prequel quoting back there, I’m an absolute Star Wars trash, and I just HAD to include it. Okay, maybe I didn’t have to, I just wanted to. Don’t worry, I’m very aware that Darth freaking Vader is a heavier hitter than Captain Hook and sack man Oogie Boogie. Kairi going toe to toe with him and winning by KH1 would be like Luke defeating him in A New Hope, and would only possibly happen if JJ Abrams was in charge of that movie (I’d say no shade, but yes, shade). Also x2, it’s not like Hook and Oogie were completely scraped. They’re still showing up, just less related to the main villains. And since Hook isn’t a part of Maleficent’s plan anymore, Neverland has a new story, and I actually looked at the original Peter Pan book for ideas. I’m already writing that first Disney world, and unlike certain mystery box enthusiasts, I do have a plan. Looking forward to showing more of that.
I have to say that I'm a little bumped that Darth Vader is the mystery villain. It's not because I didn't want him. I think he would be an excellent villain for a later instalment when Kairi would be more competent. But for KH1 he seems like an unfair choice against the protagonist. I also forgot while reading your story that Disney owns Star Wars so he didn't even come to my mind. Funnily enough though, the one I thought it was is the Darth Vader knock-off that Disney has: Emperor Zurg from Toy Story/Lightyear. He is not as threatening as Vader, so a perfect opponent for an inexperienced wielder like Kairi. He also reffered to the keyblade as a toy, so I thought you had done a clever play with his words there with my theory in mind. But I guess a Star Wars world would be pretty cool. I just hope Kairi won't look weirdly powerfull when you reach that part of the story. Also the death star is a much cooler option for a vessel between worlds than Jolly Roger. As is Luke as a party member instead of Peter Pan. So I have high hopes with a little apprehension.
