Comment on Death's Foresight

  1. Interesting take with the Gospel scene. It's interesting that it seems to have shown her where she's supposed to go to get a specific metia, makes me very curious as to what that metia is exactly.

Now, Future Sight is your choice for Authority then, it's not very Pride-like but we take what we get. I'd say her ability being that confirms she'll be mostly a melee fighter then, as it's where that skill would be most useful in combat. If she's already able to see up to 10 seconds without much trouble, that's pretty good.
I am interested in how exactly it works though, and how it might evolve. Currently it seems it's only applied to her vision, showing her the movement of the things she looks at, but it would be very useful if it could be applied to other senses, specially touch.
For example, if she could predict things with her sense of touch, she'd be able to know exactly when an attack would hit her, regardless of if she's looking at it, and even if she was unaware of it completely. That would basically give her immunity to surprise attacks, which is pretty good, and it could have other uses too, like how that would allow her to detect things like Unseen Hands with it. That also brings another point, is the Future Sight affected by sense altering effects? If it's an enchantment to her senses, then probably not, but if it's a sense of itself, then she could for example focus on it to negate spells such as shamak or sensorial illusions.
If thinking about how it could evolve, one thing that obviously comes to mind is being able to predict a more distant future and such forms of divination.
You could also be a bit more creative and have her influence things instead of just detect them. One idea I can think of for example that would be really cool for example would be if she was able to interact directly with the future visions she sees to influence things without even touching them at all. Imagine this: She goes to a road 10 minutes before her target passed through it, slashes at the vision of him 10 minutes in the future and just walks away. Then when the time comes, the target is casually travelling and his head suddently falls off with no apparent reason, Deneb is already long gone and no one ever finds out what happened that day. Cool isn't it?
Authorities do tend to be reality breaking though, so I'm expecting her to do more than just see a bit into the future eventually.

Wait a moment right there, she's being raised by the Witch Cult and they give her fairy tales about Satella destroying the world? Isn't that completely counter productive? I'd expect them to give her reason to like the object of adoration of the Cult, not the opposite, it's very slothful of Prylla to not pick the books she allows Deneb to read carefully, her lack of diligence in a task as big as raising an Archbishop makes my brain tremble!

    1. I'm liking that idea of yours, influencing the future with her future sight fits in with the other authorities quite well and seems rather prideful as well. After all what is more prideful then directly influencing fate.
