    Girl(?) don't be too hard on yourself, I absolutely loved this chapter! The constant incest subtext with the twins is a bit uncomfortable, but eh it was the anime community in 2012, everyone did things they're not proud of, and at least they're not actually related, so it could be worse. I know nada about Kazumi Magica, but based on what I skimmed from the tvtropes article this seems like a very interesting and creative way to use these characters and I definitely think they're a good inclusion in the story!

    oh speaking of the tvtropes, I assume you know this fic has a page, and I've been updating it while reading cause it was a tad bit bare and it's how I show appreciation for fics I love!

    Anyway I absolutely adore this version of Elsa Maria! Her dynamic with Kyoko, who's also religious but in a different way, is very fun and interesting and also just that tad bit of tragedy to make it fit into the series (Kyoko really thought she was hellbound, didn't she? Ooof. At least it means she can make out with the pretty mermaid without further consequence). Also it's nice when the heroes run into someone who is just wholly good and supportive of them, especially with Elsa being so grateful to Sayaka that she's wiling to go out of her way and even die to help them. Maybe i'm just a sap, but I love it when kindness gets repaid (even if it wasn't precisely "kindness" Sayaka was doing to Elsa. At least she's happy about it). I'm mad about that by the way, how dare you introduce a character I like and then kill them?!?!? Yes I know she can't die, so what?!? Though to clarify, I am joking and Elsa's sacrifice was genuinely very dramatic and made me genuinely worried despite knowing that she'd be alright.

    AND HOLY FUCK THAT FIGHT! Elsa wrecking the void walkers with her witch powers is both immensely satisfying and horrifying and kinda raises questions. Are her shadow arms the witch trait she retains?!? Also holy shit did Oktavia get the short end of the stick when it came to the afterlife. Her puella magic is something everyone has anyway, and her witch trait leaves her basically useless on land, poor girl.

    AND THE ENDING, AAAAAAH!!! MAMI HOLY SHIT IM ACTUALLY CRYING!!!! Okay okay, slow breaths. As much as I love Nagisa and Sayaka the archangel coworkers, I am very excited to see where you're headed with Charlotte's character, and based on what little I know I think the story works a lot better with Charlotte as she is here and not Nagisa. I can't wait to get to know her properly! Her design is super cute, and im very curious about how she and Mami got married.
    BUT MAMI, AAAAH IM NOT KIDDING THAT IS GENUINELY MAKING ME CRY! OKTAVIA NOT REMEMBERING WAS ALREADY GUTWRENCHING BUT NOW SHE HAS TO RUN INTO SOMEONE SHE KNEW AND ADMIRED SO MUCH IN LIFE BUT SHE CAN'T REMEMBER THEM BUT MAMI REMEMBERS HER AND HER REACTION AND AAAAAH FUCK IM CRYING I AM NOT EMOTIONALLY PREPARED FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER

    I'm gonna go and cool down with some fluff fic before the next chapter makes me cry even more

      The funny thing about The Twins is that they're still an active part of the story. And since it's kind of their gimmick, here I am. Still making incest jokes eleven years later while cringing. Oh well.

      Elsa Maria is interesting, because when I first introduced her I was pretty religious myself and wanted a positive depiction of a religious character. But I'm more agnostic these days for...various reasons, but don't want my change in worldview to affect the character, so going back to that place for her sake always feels odd.

      I know this is a Kyoko x Sayaka/Oktavia fic first and foremost, but honestly, Mami and Charlotte have proven to be one of my favorite parts. If you're interested, there's actually a couple prequels focusing on the history of their relationship that I just got done transferring over last week, so once you're done with the next chapter and gotten to know them a little you might want to check those out. Just know that one of them is a lemon.

      Thanks for buffing up the TV Tropes page. It has been pretty bare, but it never felt right if I added to it myself.

      And I'm actually a guy, but don't worry about it, lol. Given the nature of the story, being mistaken for a girl is actually kind of flattering. 😋
