Comment on Luz Noceda, the Time Lord Witch

  1. That is actually very useful in depth information, thank you.

Also what did you think of the Sonic Screwdriver design I described?

    1. Sounds like a solid design to me.

Also off topic question but what type of magic based anime do u think the The Doctor would find interesting?

      Comment Actions
      1. I think “GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There”, mainly because of the inter dimensional travel, he might not like the conflict though. But I have a feeling he would like Digimon Adventures 1 & 2.

        1. Oh yeah I could see that personally I think the Fate universe minus the whole moon cell crap would definitely be intriguing to The Doctor especially considering that the Fate verse doesn't limit itself to any one type of cultural magic anything goes similar to the magic in A certain magical index.

The various different clash of ideals in Fate/zero would definitely have The Doctor at odds with multiple masters and servants which ironically The Doctor has in previous incarnations held various similar positions ideal wise.

          1. Okay, now I need some help.

I’m gearing up to write the next chapter “The Reawakening”, but I need help deciding which point in season 2 Luz should open the fob watch. And how she’ll handle the situation. Or maybe I should reconsider my plans and have her open it in Season 3. Now that I think about it, season three makes more sense.

            Comment Actions
            1. Yeah this is kinda why I was thinking that u were originally going to have Luz open the fob watch in season 3 as quite a lot of stuff would need to be rearranged and rewritten in terms of how various episodes played out depending on when Luz were to have opened the watch in season 2. Personally I vote u go with the season 3 route though if you still want to go with Luz opening it in season 2 I think it would have to be opened after the events of Yesterday's lie like perhaps something kicked in from Camila's memory as a Time lady and the last thing she tells Luz is to open up the fob watch cause she instinctively knows that Luz stands a better chance of surviving and building a better portal home if she were to reawaken as a Time lady especially considering that even without being a Time lady Luz was able to make a semi stable portal.

              Comment Actions
              1. That can work, I can start off the chapter with the ending of Yesterday’s Lie, as Luz is going back through the unstable portal, Camila can tell her to open the watch. Although the season 3 route is also good, and it would let Camila explain the whole situation to Luz.

                1. Yeah which ever route you choose at least you'll have additional material for 2.0 version of this fic using whichever route u didn't choose this time around.

The question is how will Reaching out and Elsewhere and anywhere be handled?

                  Comment Actions
                  1. Regarding Luz’s story about her dad? The whole thing with he died in an accident was part of the false identity of Camila Noceda that the Nurse adopted, Luz’s dad died in the Time War, he died defending his home and his family, I don’t know how Luz will handle that information, but with her reawakening Luz would definitely have an identity crisis so she’ll need all the support of her friends, family, and girlfriend that she can get. Also would it make sense for Luz to have nightmares about the Daleks before or after her reawakening?

                    1. Yeah personally it make sense for her to have incredibly vague memories of the Daleks after she awakens in fact that could be what Luz is more hung up on during Reaching out hell I imagine a similar mourning scene from the episode but with the coffee table littered with various sketches of the Daleks and Galifray.

                      1. Yeah, yeah that works. As for Elsewhere and Elsewhen, with Luz having been reawakened she will have a much better understanding of time travel.

Of course once she reawakens she won’t have any drastic personality changes, she’ll still be the same Luz we’ve all come to know and love, but now she’ll have vast knowledge of a lot of things.

                        1. Besides being able to innately understand the machanics of time travel and having near perfect total recall, photographic memory and being able to do some Stephen Hawking's level of mathematical physics I think something a Time lord/lady has intelligence wise that separates them from other sentient beings is that they have the ability that Syler has from Heroes to be able to know how something works Quantum adaptation I think it's called it would make sense as to how Luz would know so much.

Also I do think that Luz's personality would definitely remain largely the same however I think she would probably think things through a bit more often than in cannon.

                          Comment Actions
                          1. Yeah, she would think things through more before rushing into a situation, and wait, the tale of the Wittebane brothers is well known in Gravesfield right? So wouldn’t Luz know right off the bat that Philip is a Witch Hunter following her reawakening? Because of the photographic memory.

                            1. Yeah I imagine it would kinda be like one of those moments from the movie Limitless where she would perfectly recall that moment in history class when she was only half listening.

                              1. Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking, although I’ve never seen that movie, but what you described is exactly what I was thinking.

So, should Luz build her Sonic Screwdriver on her own, or should it be a present from either her mother or the Doctor?

                                Comment Actions
                                1. Oh I think it would be far better for it to be a gift from The Doctor especially after a reawakened Camila has told Luz so much about the legendary Time lord known by the Daleks as The oncoming storm.

                                  1. Yes! That works beautifully! But…How would Camila/The Nurse feel, when she learns about how the Doctor used the Moment? How would Luz feel when she learns about that?

                                    Comment Actions
                                    1. Hostley part of me thinks that The Doctor would hide that truth from her as it's something that we know he's ashamed of doing.

As for how Luz would feel that's tricky The Doctor told his daughter Jenny that being a Time lord/lady is far more than just having two hearts it's about a shared history, a shared pain and a shared suffering though I'm pretty sure he was meaning metaphorically. Anyways I think Luz would feel both detatached from her culture yet still incredibly saddened by the loss of not being able to personally experience it for herself as one of Luz's best aspects of which she shares with The Doctor is her eminence empathy.

                                      1. Yeah. But when Day of the Doctor rolls around, Luz and Camila will have a hand in saving Gallifrey.

                                        1. Probably in fact Luz will probably feel like it's somewhat her duty to help her people.

                                          Comment Actions
                                          1. Yep, that’s another trait she has, strong sense of responsibility.

Also do you think Luz will have a panic attack when she sees a Dalek in person?

                                            Comment Actions
                                            1. I mean I know I would at least if I'm unarmed she probably would.

Also I wonder what Luz would be able to do if she got her hands on Hunter's staff? I partly wonder if Luz would figure out how to make a device that can disrupt Belos's staff like a magical Emp device or something like that as well as also figuring out a more effective way of taking down the Abomiton's with minimal magic so her and the Hexsqaud can make even quicker work of them.

                                              1. Yeah, that all works. When I said Luz having a panic attack at meeting a Dalek, I mean like, she is meeting the creatures in her nightmares, the creatures who killed both her father and her people, she would absolutely freak out. Of course she would get over the fear and confront the Daleks, but she wouldn’t be alone in doing that.

                                                Comment Actions
                                                1. No she wouldn't in fact I think Luz would probably ask The Doctor on how he overcame his fear of the Daleks the 9th's reaction to seeing a Dalek vs. When the 10th Doctor sees one definitely shows that him getting over it was recent. Personally I think part of him getting over his fear of Daleks was because he saw first hand the lengths that Rose was willing to go through to stop them and to save him and seeing how a human could something like that gave him the resolve he needed.

                                                  Comment Actions
                                                  1. True, very true, but, when should Luz have her first encounter with a Dalek? I’m starting the events of Doctor Who with the 9th Doctor and Rose, should Luz and Camila also be with them in the episode “Dalek”?

                                                    Comment Actions
                                                    1. That's another good question it would certainly be interesting though personally I was thinking about the 10th Doctor's encounter at the end of season 2 but that's also hard to work out given how fast paced the episode is not to mention The Doctor losing Rose would make him kinda hard to get advice from.

Yeah given the choice I'd say Dalek would be a better choice in fact you could have Luz actually be there backing up Rose when she's questioning what The Doctor is becoming do to Luz having a fear of Daleks but her compassion and empathy for the poor creature outweighing and allowing her to overpower her fear. Meanwhile Camila is in an incredibly conflicted place given like The Doctor she would still hold tremendous anger, rage and hatred towards the Daleks but would want to still set a good example for Luz.

                                                      Comment Actions
                                                      1. Yeah, that works, how would Rose and the Doctor meet up with Luz and the Nurse? Would the Doctor’s TARDIS sense the presence of another TARDIS along with two other Time Lords and then home in on their location?

                                                        Comment Actions
                                                        1. I don't think so as shown in by the 11th Doctor when he was investigating a mystery that interfered with the Tardis being able to land properly and it ended up being a lost Tardis trying to find a pilot and the 11th Doctor wasn't able to make the connection. I think it would make more sense for the Tardis to lock on to the energy signatures of 2 reawakened Time lord/lady's plus wouldn't the Tardis had detected Camila's Tardis earlier than?

Also I think Amity tagging along with Luz would both help Luz out moral support wise in moments like in Dalek and it would carry on the pastime of traveling Time lord/lady's taking companions along with them.

                                                          1. Oh, Amity is going traveling with Luz that’s for sure, along with her other friends. And Luz is going to need them that’s for sure.

                                                            1. Yeah I can see Gus and Hunter absolutely losing their shit when they get to explore the Tardis and actually travel to another planet.
