Oh, I see. That makes sense. I probably would have done the same thing. At least everything makes sense within your AU! :D
Voldie probably wanted to know where Lily and James were (why would he want them so badly unless they were strong like in your series?) and went to the Potters (as well as the Evans' - which explains their respective deaths) and killed them?? Idk.
I will try to stick the link here. If it doesn't work, I'm sorry, but here is my wizarding family tree (it is still a WIP). If it doesn't work, let me know. So you know, I started with Sirius Black III and just went from there. I have not added a new root yet.
I'm sure there will be mistakes in my AU or things that don't fit properly, but I try to keep it all nicely balanced together.
Another thing about James, Lily and Voldemort....Voldy wanted them dead so badly, yet he waited a week after being told the secret to go to their house...why on earth????
It's canon that James and Lily were strong; had to have been to have been able stand against him three times and we know he even offered Lily a position among his ranks despite being Muggleborn. Says enough about their strength, doesn't it?
Yeah, and often people forget that. I love that you have them teaching Harry stuff so young. They would definitely do that, knowing he was in danger. And yeah, that's incredible that he asked a Muggleborn... like what the heck?!
Hm. I copied and pasted the link and it worked for me, and I'm not logged in. Maybe it's because you're not in the US? Idk. It should work on a desktop or laptop, though. Cell phones and tablets it tends not to work on.
No clue, it's mentioned in the third book; Fudge tells Rosmerta and some others that "less than a week later" Voldemort showed up at their hiding place...why wait so long? And aside from that; it is mentioned in Deathly Hallows that James had borrowed our his Invisibility Cloak to Dumbledore to study it...while he was in hiding...why the hell would he borrow out his most reliable method of protection and escape during such a time????????????????
I use a windows '95, so it might be that is the reason why it does not work as it's too old, sorry.
Sorry to jump on on an old thread - but I always assumed it was Peter who waited, not Voldemort. Like I can see Voldemort taking a day to study the wards or amass followers or something, but Peter held off for a few days too. Perhaps wrestling with his ethics before committing himself?
Is it really actual canon that Voldemort offered Lily a place? All I remember is his offer to spare her life if she stood aside on Halloween.
One of the many things we don't truly know. Did Peter wait, did Voldemort or did the story just change as time passed? Rowling later said that they'd been into hiding already since before Harry's birth, contradicting herself as she so often seems to be doing. So who knows, maybe Voldemort acted immediately when Peter and Sirius switched and the whole "less than a week" is actually only a few hours, you never know with those wizard's sense of time.
It has never been revealed in the books; Rowling revealed it in an interview if I remember correctly so technically it is not canon. But since he accepted talent like Half-Blood Snape as well, he might've wanted a talented Lily in his ranks as well, who knows. I personally think he offered it to her, but that is just me.
