Aw thank you so much :) There is definitely something about charismatic grizzled older killers. Charlie and Luda Mae are definitely people you could feel a twinge of sympathy for given their beginnings but all pity kinda goes out the window with the extremes they go to and their lack of remorse. I do think Charlie genuinely cares about looking after his family but he also only goes about it in a way that feeds his own sadism and ego.
