Wow. I have to admit going into this that I was a little disappointed that we were leaving our main beloved main flock and focussing on a minor character. I didn't know whether I would get emotionally invested.
Damn. I'm totally invested. First I really appreciate the extra world-building we got on the Nether.
Secondly, Jack is a Bearer! Congratulations on hiding that nugget very well in the first story. I had NO IDEA. On top of that I am pretty damn certain he is Tubbo's bio mother. I could be wrong, he could just be attached. But ...
Either way, the fact that he gave up any claim and ensured that Tubbo had a better life with Quackity was so personally moving to me. I'm an adoptive mom and my child was a foundling. We don't know what circumstances led to them being abandoned, but the only reassurance that I can consistently give them is that they were left in a place where they would be found and clearly someone wanted them to be adopted. I cannot imagine the circumstances that led to that and I think of those mysterious birth parents often and wish that I could share with them how well their child is doing.
I can tell that Jack's journey is going to resonate deeply with me.
Also, kudos to all of the rest of the B-Team. They are all so sweet and helpful. I may not be able to read the next chapters promptly as I'll be visiting family for the holiday, but I'm really looking forward to it.
Thank you!!! I'll admit that was a large concern with these sequels since not all of them focus on the characters from the first fic - I'm glad you're onboard! Your commentary and analysis is always quite helpful!!!
Thank you!!! It was a lot of small hints to at least indicate his bearerness was a possibility without outright giving it away. That's a lovely theory! We'll have to wait to see if it pans out ;D
Thank you! I think that reassurance is beautiful and forever accurate <3 Jack himself knows he's not in a place to provide much for anyone, so even though he does care for Tubbo, he'd rather know for certain that the small goat hybrid was taken care of by someone that had the full means to do so rather than jeopardize his emotional health/security. Jack might get to a place where he can have a more substantial role in Tubbo's life, but it'll take time to get there. In the meantime, he'll happily support the family Tubbo has found as best he can :)
That's so fair!!! The holidays are crazy. Thanks for the heads up, and I hope these updates continue to provide entertaining reprieve from the craziness of the season!
