    So. I binged this serious over the last few days and I ADORE it. Now I’m going to go back and leave more detailed thoughts on each chapter.

    This is a great place to start with such a small change. Rhaenyra is so DIRECT it’s delightful. Want to know more about the small folk? Go out and ask some! Of course I’ll talk to my uncle’s paramour she’s a good source of information
    I can totally believe that something like this happened before episode 1

    I also adore how Lyman takes her seriously. Admittedly that could be partly because they both think she’s doing this on the king’s orders, but still. As he ends up basically being her most trusted advisor and close friend, this is a good humble beginning

      Thirteen year old Rhaenyra is rather lacking in subtlety. She's just stopping random smallfolk in the streets and asking them a slew of questions. I felt like this portrayal tied in well with what we see of her in the early episodes.

      Lyman initially thinks the situation is a little peculiar but he is not going to gainsay a princess asking for his help. Plus it's an interesting diversion from his usual duties. I thought it would be better if Lyman assisted Rhaenyra with an innocuous task around this time so that the foundations of their relationship are in place before the major events start kicking off.
