So I am really fascinated by the application of asexual theory to Rick's character in Casablanca, no joke. Also I wheeze-laughed at the fic (I once heard a woman read her fic aloud at a conference. It was brilliant but also I was vicariously perishing.)

I appreciate your managing to put your finger on both all of the little in-jokes and all the places where I fudged stuff for comic effect (what timescale is this fic happening over? don't even worry about it). Anyway, I'm choosing to reply to this comment specifically because I'm absolutely not a film studies person and more or less pulled Casablanca out of my arse here, but I do have reasonably extensive if variably coherent thoughts on asexual lit/translation theory over on Tumblr, should that interest you!
