      Thank you so much!! I've read some good daemon fics across a bunch of different fandoms, and my favorite thing was just when they would push both the source's lore AND daemon lore to a new place. So when I thought about Shirayuki, I thought about how a daemon would represent the conflict she was going through, how a daemon "settling" generally meant that someone knew who they were on some level...and how that would so suddenly change for her, being thrown from a place she'd been her whole life and be forced to make something new. So I wanted a very "responsible"-type daemon for her to start with, a PRACTICAL shape that is definitely NOT RED...and then have it become something else once she'd found her way in Clarines. And the tipping point just had to be the night she escaped, because what else could communicate her desperation and fear better than her losing her sense of self. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
