Yep, everything I write is unfortunately based off of my own experiences (in this series, anyway). I think it's important that we disabled/chronically ill folk are able to tell our own stories, and I try to make it so that people going through similar experiences feel less alone while people who can't relate are able to empathize with a group that is often treated as an afterthought. I hope that one day there will be more representation in mainstream media that doesn't dehumanize us, but in the meantime, if i can use fanfiction to help people feel seen and heard, I'm happy.
