  1. "The morning was all crickets and birdsong, out in the Quagmire." I want to walk into this sentence. Ok, well, maybe not the Scorn battle part. But the atmosphere of this fic is so strong! "The Acolyte squeezed himself further into the topiary" INCREDIBLE work.

    MANDY NOOOOOOO

Truly this fic adds more moral ambiguity to killing the Hive Ghosts than the game allowed. I also enjoy, in a slightly bloodthirsty way, when Guardians are frightening and their supposedly-great-and-terrible weapons truly great-and-terrible.

The Hive philosophy! The butterfly nest!

I need more moral ambiguity to killing Hive Ghosts!!! That was the topic of the day for like, five minutes, and then everybody got over it before the TWQ campaign even ended. Argh. You don't even know (though I'm sure you can imagine) how mad it makes me that we're now killing Ghosts even INSIDE THE TRAVELER.

Yeah Guardians should be scary!! It's always fun to look at them from the perspective of their enemies, and that's yet another reason why I love the Lucent Hive as a concept and TWQ in general. We are now the assailors, the destroyers, the takers. We have the power of an orb-god in our hands, and we are rarely seen shying away from using it. I miss the Dark Ages lore that explored the horror potential of that more.
