(copied and reformatted from discord comments) To be honest I didn't expect much when I saw this is a crackfic. It was way better than I expected. Like thinking I was eating a big mac when this burger is all handmade, from bun to meat patty. And theme, the meaning and purpose of life. This burger fic does nicely shine on one aspect of pebbles: I genuinely believe when he uses up tons of water to break the taboo, he did thought about what would that do to Moon. But Pebbles just thought, As long as he broke the taboo, and solved the great problem, Moon needed to hurt for a short bit for everyone's salvation Something something crack an egg to make omeltte He might have not thought of what happens if he didn't succeed... In one of those pearls, Moon talked about how the harder someone struggles, the more entangled they are. Pebbles in effort to free everyone, become more entangled, but he could not see it. (I now really wish this is explored much more in fics... the entanglement in Five Pebbles, he's more than grouchy, he's geniuely stuck in a mindset he can't slip out of. Actually similar to that painting he liked, the one that the plants were denied water.) Yet Innocence, getting wrangled into the burger business, something she despised at beginning, ended up enjoying being a sentient burger fryer. Now it serves a different purpose than for some capitialism greed. For 8% of processing power, she found joy in mundane. ...man I need to make handmade burgers sometimes later.
