Have you read Dany chapters in the books anytime? This is literally how her thoughts about Drogo work. For her, he was still the person who gave her some modicum of power and freedom, and it's hard for her to reconcile the relative good he did to her with his treatment of her in the beginning. Her thoughts circle and circle around and around what he really was but she can never directly think it, wilful ignorance is her coping mechanism "If I look back, I'm lost". And I would have thought the below line made it clear what actually happened with Drogo:
"Her sun-and-stars had slowly come around to her, but he’d only grown to love her once Dany had shown her strength; he had had little interest in the weak and fearful girl she had been in the early days of their marriage, only desiring her for his nightly pleasures."
That's a problem with the fandom if portrayal is seen as endorsement. Secondly, when did I criticise Sansa?
