The snapshot of Leyton’s 4 marriages is making it seem like he’s bad luck to marry 😅. Like whatever you’d call the male equivalent of a black widow. Aw too bad Baelor is already hitched to Rhonda with kids (though in canon he didn’t have any). I always wondered if Mathis Rowan was another of Elia’s Reach suitors who carried a torch for her, as it’s noted in the books he’s pretty angry at the mention of the deaths of Elia and her children some 15 years later. Poor sweet Merian trying her best to play matchmaker at age 10.
Haha yeah. I wrote it with the intention of it being sad but it came off a little funnier than I intended lol. While I try to stay true to the big plot points of the story, I decided to give Baelor a kid cause I figured since he was heir he'd need to have one sooner or later 😅
I always took Baelor not having any kids despite being the heir, further highlighted by his brothers not having any kids, as integral to his profile as the “anti-Rhaegar”: he had dynastic reasons to set aside his wife (even if it might have been his fertility problem) or have bastards but he didn’t as he was a decent man=a true knight of “splendid repute”.
