I CALLEEDDDD ITTT!!!! OMGOMGOMG!!! I'm so excited I'm literally shaking. This is one of the BEST omegaverse AUs - if not THE BEST - I have *EVER* read. You've managed to take a trope that's been around for *ages* and give it such a good spin/turn around/twist God I have no words. This whole series is in my top 5 of all time fanfics I've ever read and I've been reading for over 10 years now (oh holy shit I'm old). I love that you don't make Reader this shrinking violet who only thinks about mating/breeding. I lovelovelove how she's fiesty, she has flaws, she's stubborn - she's wonderfully, deliciously complex and YOU.DID.THAT. YOU DID ALLLL A THAT. I also love the interactions between the different characters (not just between Reader and the MCU Characters). The interactions between the characters give so much depth to the story - it really feels like you've built this whole different universe. I'm in awe of you and your world-building, your character-building, etc. Like the failed marriage between Tony and Steve?? The stubbornness so inherent in both these characters, but it's still so laced with longing and regret but pride is just blocking the way - pride and responsibility. All of this is so REAL. so TRUE. It's what breaks down real world relationships every day. And you managed to capture this so beautifully. I genuinely can't wait to read what you've got in store for Jane Doe and the MCU Characters. The courtroom verdict has been a long time coming. And so satisfying to write! It really was a clever plan on the Judge's part, to get these damned superheroes off his back... by turning them on each other. Muahaha
Our Reader character has always been clever and determined, but she's evolving out of a 'keep head down to avoid trouble' kind of person into someone willing to talk back, jump at opportunities, etc. Which has been fun. And I've enjoyed writing an emotional hedgehog like her.
One of the big things I wanted to explore was how tightly the Avengers have woven their lives together. I think that's a big reason why the DCEU kind of fell flat to me, because other than the occasional cameo they really didn't interact with one another.
And in the MCU you get the sense that the team's still in the picture even for movies focused on one character. Nat mourning the big pack breakup before getting distracted by her sister in Black Widow, Peter swinging by Dr Strange's for a brainwashing spell, etc. So that was one of my goals to show how these two groups are connected within and between packs.
I also wanted to show how genuinely fraught the Steve/Tony relationship has gotten, and both sides are pretty entrenched in their (undestandable) positions. BUT a relationship isn't over until at least one of the people in it is done. And Tony and Steve are most definitely not finished with each other. Poor Reader will be caught in the middle of that, as they come to terms with a truth both have tried to avoid. Or, haha, maybe I should say poor Primes because they are Not Prepared for Jane Doe.
