    1. In fact the creation of a sakuran air force will likely bring down sakura's government, something that will be VERY important later....I may need to make a prime continuity series to deal with this subject.

      2. Yeah you might find that difficult

In my fics, in the years after the AL-CA war, the Imperial Japanese military gets a major overhaul with the Imperial Japanese Army becoming
a mix of the IJA and JGSDF with the Imperial Japanese Air Force formed from the IJAAF and IJNAS but doctrinally closer to the JASDF and the Imperial Japanese Navy becoming a mix of the IJN and JMSDF with the Imperial Japanese Army losing out as its more militant people age out allowing that culture to fade out and Imperial Japan focusing more on the Imperial Japanese Air Force and Imperial Japanese Navy as Japan is an island nation after all whereas the Imperial Japanese Marines would model themselves on the British Royal Marines.

        1. I'll be taking a very different direction it seems.

          1. Okay but to be blunt, the beef between the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy will not last forever

The Imperial Japanese Navy could easily at best keep the carrier arm of its naval air forces and the maritime patrol planes but the land-based strike aircraft would likely be lost to the new Imperial Japanese Air Force

            1. of course it wont, but there will still be interservice rivalry, america has sibling level stuff but in the aftermath of ww2 it was frankly PETTY, wanting to dissolve the marines, cancelling supercarriers under "cost cutting measures", and believing dropping nukes is a good way to fight wars.

the navy said that wasn't the case.

literally ONE YEAR LATER, the navy was proven right.

              1. yeah the inter-service rivalry will still be there since the IJN will have to fight the IJA and IJAF for funding which the Sirens will probably help swing it in the IJN's favour given an Air Force's ability to fight Sirens is questionable at best
