She's actively trying to not seem crazy, since she cares a lot more about how people see her than Harry does. Although seeming crazier would make people give her more leeway, since they'd assume it's Starlines fault, although Surge wouldn't be happy with that either. In my head Surge has like multiple meters, Trust, How crazy people perceive Surge as, and the affection/pity people have towards her.
