    Love the characterization with the advisors and the courtyard - and I'm never going to complain about extra info dumps! Having Caliburn's perspective was great. I love that bossy sword and think he's too often underutilized in fics.

      I completely agree! I love Caliburn so much. I just hope I did him justice and got his characterisation right...

        I think it's a great storytelling device. Of course he's noticing details that others wouldn't, if only because his perception is inherently different. Also, the concept of swords being historically considered extensions of their wielders has sort of been flipped on its head here, where Sonic in his insecurity keeps trying to consult Caliburn for direction instead. Neat stuff.

        Now I'm thinking about the parallels between Sonic's lack of control over his situation and Caliburn's lack of physical autonomy...
