    oh dear, so when Hood was wilting, was that her body was degrading quite quickly and I guess that affected her rigging too

      Its an effect of starvation, where she was contracting into a wilting position due to muscle energy being spent, she wasn't taking on fuel either, and also wasn't letting her rigging being maintained.

      To put it bluntly, she was speedrunning a ship's old age.

        So taking her to her state that she was in 1940/41 and the bad hull data from her memories would have only made that worse

        So KG5 managed to slow the detoration down but its Chris aka the Commander who fixes the damage Hood's self destructive spiral had done

          it was rodney who finalised her refit design, without the added radar tech her internal combat system could've have fixed her vision so well.
