The dynamic between Steve, Nancy and Johnathan are so real. Of course Steve feels awkward but needing a place to stay but also not wanting to be a burden. This poor guy. Hop it works out with Eleven and Hopper. And that Steve can still be good friends with Nance and John.
DONT THINK I DIDNT CATCH THAT LITTLE MOMENT OF WILL NOT BEING OK. oh I’m so not going to be normal about him during this Fic I can already tell. I’m already frothing at the mouth and he’s been a measly footnote this chapter. Be prepared, for I am feral for Will and the Byers. (And Mike… with Will. Hehehehe)
Don’t trust the government but not hating them. You write a good fine line of “we don’t have to trust them but we *do* have to work with them.”
I'm not gonna lie, I feel like Steve fits into El and Hopper's dynamic pretty well. He's already fond of Hop as a dude, he and El definitely enjoy the same TV shows, and they're all three pretty solitary (when Steve's not picking up chicks, anyway). A lot of their domestic life will probably happen in the background, but I still want to show some more of them and of the duos that don't show up much in the show. Steve's already starting to bond with Jonathan for instance, and he and Nancy and Jonathan will definitely stick together through thick and thin. They've got some relationship stuff to sort, but once they do, they'll be inseparable.
Oh boy if you like Will being a mess (with Mike) you're gonna have a field day with the later chapters. Having Vecna in your head is not a recipe for perfect sanity, that's for sure! Get ready >:)
I'm glad that line feels natural. It's a difficult one to toe, for sure, but I want them to work together while still keeping that general sense of unease.
