Oof, sorry about that, had to play the long game! I hate having Will's first coming out go this poorly, but if what he feels for Mike is ever gonna mean anything, El has to know, and there was no world in which she was going to be happy about it. Then you throw ol' Henry Creel in the mix... and yeah. A hint: forced isolation is a running theme in this fic. The baddies know the Party is stronger together, and anything they can do to break that and gain an advantage, they'll try.
Send hugs for El, definitely. I feel very strongly about giving her an actual character arc in this Mileven/Byler mess, not just a casual "oh yeah I don't love Mike anymore." She's a strong, capable and loving individual, and l care about her a lot and think her experience of whatever happens romantically deserves focus. Though her story has a lot of pain in it, I fully intend for it to be a good one. She's still Eleven, and she's going to get her dang happy ending, with or without Mike.
