Sojiro trying to be a father figure to Alice while she deals with the heavy truths of men like him not being there when she needed them most... But hey, Sojiro is an ally so we got some good going for us!
Alice and Sophia's dynamic is so good. I love the fact Sophia is just so angry at Alice all the time -- she has a right to be, but Alice also has a point that Kuon's death was the only one she couldn't have stopped. The only one she couldn't say no to, with a gun pointed at her and no context for what she was doing until she was in danger of death herself.
Shiho and Sumire both awaken!!! Hell yeah!!! I love the Persona choices for them, and I love that Alice sees this as keeping Shiho AND Ann safe in one go. Deal with Kamoshida, Shiho can be strong even if she comes to hate Alice and Ann doesn't spiral further into the killings.
And AUGH ANN AND ALICE. THEIR BACK AND FORTH IS EVERYTHINGGGGGG
Alice is just getting all these reminders of how she could have wound up a better person but instead, she got the hand she was dealt. Now she has kindness and isn't sure what to do with it.
I love writing these two in this fic. As they needle each other in their own ways about what's going on and how to deal with it. How at the end of the day both of them were never going to be able to fix that and they have to hold that. And Sophia is god's angriest soldier, as she should be.
WE HAVE TO GET THEM ARMED AND READY. WE HAVE TO LET SHIHO HAVE THE OPTION TO KILL KAMOSHIDA! WE HAVE TO LET SUMIRE HAVE FUN WITH MOVEMENT AGAIN! AND IF ANN DOESN'T KILL KAMOSHIDA, DESPITE HIM DESERVING IT, MAYBE SHE WON'T CONSIDER MURDER THE ANSWER TO ALL PROBLEMS.
They are so fun to write here. Former Black Mask to Black Mask communication is fun!
