Summary
For Vincent Ralston, a Scottish paramedic, his job isn't just a job, but a calling. Life and death are so close together for him that sometimes, he wishes he could push the borders by sheer force of will. But then he sees the advertisement of an Italian augmentation company - a company that produces medical augmentations. They are looking for volunteers. And Vincent sees the chance of becoming more than he is, and more of what the world needs him to be.

Summary
Life is going good for Vincent, and his augmentations are everything he dreamed of. Even more so when he gets an upgrade after his Biomedica arms have undergone further development.
But then the first biochip glitch happens, and Vincent’s life is beginning to fall apart. Despite that he decides to make that one dream come true he’s had for years, as now, being jobless, he has the time on his hand. Backpacking through Europe might feel a little like running away, and maybe it is, but it was a dream of his for many years.
Of course he wouldn’t have been able to imagine to run into a cute bookshop owner with messy black hair, and beautiful brown eyes.
