“So, why did you guys even come here?” Dick questioned, peering over Wally’s shoulder to them before looking to Wally. “Did they come here for us?”
“No, Batman turned us into informants.” Wally said, laughing.
Dick made a face, nose scrunching up. “Informants for what?”
Wally’s voice is filled with amusement, “Missing technology.”
Or: The Team get sent to a circus to meet with informants. They weren't expecting them to be their teammates who disappeared a year ago.

Wally laughed loudly as the car took off. “You’re a menace.”

He didn’t want to die. There’s still so much he wanted to do. There was still so many things he wanted to say and experience and feel. But there was no other way he would rather go, there was no one he’d rather spend his last moments with.
Ten, nine, eight…
Dick leans forward, can’t stop himself, and places a hand on Wally’s cheek. Wally shudders, more attacks are sent their way, and then the speedster leans forward. There is so much he wants to say, so much he wants to experience, so much he wants to do. But he only has so much time left, so Dick presses their lips together, presses as close as he dares, holds as tight as he can, savors all that he can get.
He wants to linger. He wants to press his forehead against Wally’s and just stare into his eyes, wants to hold his hand and see him smile, wants to trace his freckles with his fingertips. He wants and he wants and he wants, but he cannot have.
Or: Dick kisses Wally, knowing they wouldn't survive this mission. He doesn’t expect to wake up to find everything perfectly fine, nor does he expect anything to become of the kiss. He was wrong, even if it takes some time.

“KF,” Dick hissed as he tucked his sunglasses into his shirt, “I have an idea. Follow my lead.”
“Dude, anything that keeps our cover,” Wally muttered back.
“Okay, I’m going to kiss you.” Dick said, then tangled his fingertips into Wally’s hair and tugged him closer.
Okay, Dick is just going to kiss him. That’s fine, that’s totally fine. His heart can totally handle that. Totally.
Or: In order to save their mission, Dick and Wally end up kissing. They end up talking about it.

“You just called the brat a sugar snap and he didn’t even try to stab you.” Jason deadpanned. “Your fridge is literally covered in his art. He just went into yours and Wally’s room like a kid who threw up and wants cuddles.”
Dick huffed.

Or: Wally thinks Dick is forcing himself to be in a relationship with Wally. Dick is so in love. Jason wants them to stop shoving their love in his face, thanks.

And, what? Jason’s eyes snapped at his brother, lips parting slightly. He heard Tim mutter under his breath, no doubt wondering what Dick was talking about too.
“It’s my fault.” Dick stammered, digging his fingertips into Wally’s shoulder blades. “I should’ve protected him, he’s my brother! Now he’s dead!”
Or: after being dosed with a new toxin, things Dick wished to keep buried were dug up. Jason's having a wild ride, that's for sure.

Dick snorted and slapped his chest slightly, “Well, can you be in love on the couch? I got pizza.”

“At least they aren’t trying to go to Nightwing’s room anymore.” Artemis ignored them. Actually, it seemed like everyone was doing their best to ignore them.
Or: Dick and Wally ended up getting hit with a love spell. The Team knows this. Dick and Wally have been dating for months. The Team doesn't know this.

Everyone sent him looks. Wally scowled, crossing his arms. “I’m sorry that I don’t want my future self to be a thought-to-be kidnapper!”
Or: Dick and Wally accidently get sent to a different dimension, they tell no one. When they suddenly are seen with two missing kids - they're dads now! - well, the Justice League is a bit suspicious.

The child in Bruce’s arms glared at him, a fierce expression for such a little itty-bitty thing. Another point in the “this random child with black hair and blue eyes is not Dick” column. Dick, from the stories Jason remembered getting out of Bruce and Alfred, hadn’t been this small.
“Jason,” Bruce replied, tone a bit harsh. He’s stressed. Jason’s supposed that was a point in the “Dick was turned into a literal child” column.
Or: after a run in with magic, Dick is left as a child. No one is having a fun time, who knew Dick liked to hide from everyone constantly?

Wally was on Damian’s other side after a few quiet minutes, and he carefully passed Damian a steaming mug of cocoa. It was warm in his hands and the smell was rich in his nose and it reminded him of all their memories together. Hot chocolate had always been Wally’s way of comforting him, even over something as small as a paper cut.
“I wish you were my parents.” Damian admitted. He blinked and tears fell into his drink.
“Oh, Dami,” Dick said mournfully.
Or: Wayne Manor makes Damian feel lonely in a way staying with Dick and Wally never had. Damian tells them this, eventually.
