Summary
Lucy waits for the mention of her father to twist something awful inside her. Still nothing. So after a few moments, she just says, “Okey dokey, Tex. Whatever you say.”
The cadence of the ghoul’s steps stutters for a second. Barely noticeable, but Lucy catches on. “Tex?” he inquires, shooting her a narrowed glance from the side.
“I have to call you something,” she explains with a shrug. Though even she knows that’s not the real reason. Maybe she wants to goad him into telling her his real name. Maybe she just wants to get under his skin a little, in whatever way she can.

Summary
Her hands are calm and steady in a way that can’t all come from that swig of liquid courage. No, she’s done this before, and Cooper finds that he desperately wants to ask about it. Her answer could land anywhere between it’s just basic mandatory Vault-Tec first aid and I needed to stitch up my cousin-lover after we performed some experimental perverted shit previously unknown to the mortal plane. Every goddamn thing he learns about Lucy MacLean tends to shift his entire perspective of the little vault dweller, and he wonders if he’ll ever uncover the entire mystery.

Summary
Barbara and Janey, she remembers. Lucy doesn’t think she could forget. Those two names, the two most important names in the world to him. But really, it had been three names he’d delivered to her yesterday, because he had finally spoken into existence what Lucy had known almost from the beginning. Like Cooper Howard didn’t exist without the other two – he sure didn’t exist for Lucy.

Summary
Lucy is just as antsy, if the rabbit-quick thumping of her bootheel against the floorboards is anything to go by. Cooper thinks about resting his palm over her knee in an attempt to calm her nerves. He also thinks about licking the bead of sweat that gathers on her temple and slowly slides its way down her neck. He does neither of course. Not the latter, because he’s pretty sure their audience of dead-eyed secretaries wouldn’t appreciate it, and not the former, because Lucy hasn’t seemed like she’s wanted to touch him with a ten foot pole since yesterday morning.
