Summary
Red stained the floor in front of his window, a pool of it slowly spreading outward from the unconscious body. Black hair was grown out, greasy and full of leaves. The hand Stiles could see was missing a few nails, and covered in light scratches. The leather jacket was ripped to shreds and the jeans were dirty and holey, blood staining the material.
Even though he couldn’t see his face, even though it had been two years, even though he had just promised himself that this year, this year, would be the year where he never again thought of Derek Hale...
There he fucking was.

“If you’ve opened your mouth around him, that explains everything,” Derek told him coldly. “Maybe try shutting up for once. And standing still. Not breathing would help your cause, too.”
Stiles let out a wail of despair, and everyone quickly moved in to comfort him. Derek scowled, annoyed, and clapped his hands loudly.
“Enough. Back to work. Stiles, get the fuck out of my department.”
“Language,” Stiles chided, pointing one finger at him while still draped across the desk.

Stiles scowled while Captain Hale laughed, clacking his tankard against one of his other crewmates’ drink and taking a large swallow.

Derek snarled and let out a loud bark, eyes glowing blue in Scott’s direction since Stiles couldn’t see him from where he was standing. Scott scowled at him, moving closer to him and inhaling pointedly.
“What are you doing here, Derek?” Scott asked, voice low enough that Stiles wouldn’t hear. He wasn’t listening anyway, still panicking and randomly opening things.

“Why not?” Narrowing his eyes, he pointed a finger at Derek. “Is he abusive? Does he beat people? Or verbally abuse them? Is he a bully? It’s not Jackson, is it? If it is, I might have to take a minute.”
“It’s not Jackson.” Nervous as he was, Derek rolled his eyes, likely at the absurdity of the question.
“Then what’s the problem?”
“I don’t know how he’ll take it. He matters a lot to me, and I’m scared to change things.”

“I could see that,” Derek said. He was still wolfed out, eyes glowing red, staring down at Stiles like he didn’t know what to make of him.
When Derek took a step forward, hand outstretched to help him up, Stiles raised his crossbow and fired. Derek leapt back a step, looking down at himself, then turned when he heard a thump, the second Omega in the area flat on its face with an arrow in its head.
Turning back to Stiles slowly, Derek frowned down at him. “You saved me.”
“I saved myself,” Stiles insisted, getting to his feet on his own.

Pulling open his apartment door, he let out an involuntary shout when something was quite literally thrust into his chest hard enough to have him almost tip backwards. He managed to right himself while keeping hold of what had been shoved at him and looked up in time to see his neighbour striding back towards his apartment.

His door slammed.
Stiles blinked at the other man’s door, utterly confused, and looked down at what he was holding.
It was a plastic bag, full of what felt like tupperware, which made no sense to Stiles because when had his neighbour broken into his house to steal his tupperware?

Derek just gave him a look before turning back to Erica when she called out that she was ready. She had her back to the crowd of women, standing on a chair while Boyd held her waist. She did two practice throws without releasing the bouquet, and on the third, she let it go. Derek tensed the second he saw her let go, the throw much harder than it should’ve been, likely because Erica had forgotten in her excitement that she was a Werewolf and she had super-strength.
The bouquet shot into the crowd like a canon and Derek heard the sound it made when it slammed straight into someone’s face.
