Sam doesn’t extract himself from his nest of blankets and pillows on the walk-in closet floor when he hears Rashid’s key in the front door. Even when he hears Rashid call out to him, asking if he’s had enough blood bags to tide him over until they can go out to hunt, all he does is roll onto his back and stare at the fairy lights he’s wound around the sheet-draped clothing racks overhead. Sam reaches toward the nearest wall; his nails graze one of the sofa cushions. Using a closet to structure your fort surely counts as cheating, but he’s too depressed to care.
That’s likely why Sam doesn’t feel insulted when Rashid heads to the kitchen first. Judging by the sounds he makes while pottering around in there, the sequence of events goes like this: open the fridge, pull out blood bags, open the cupboard, get down a pair of mugs and…something made of cardboard that sounds like it contains sand. Rashid hasn’t been a vampire for that long, around a month, so there are still a handful of dry goods from his human existence. Puzzlingly, Rashid goes back to the fridge, pulls out the milk carton, and fetches yet another mug.

“Baby.” Louis said with comfort. “You were walking around, trying to open the door. You weren’t answering me, you really freaked me out. I need you to tell me what happened.”
Lestat’s breath began to quicken the same way it did when an anxiety attack began to smother him, spurred on by Louis mounting stress.
“I don’t- I don’t remember.” He said, punctuated with gasps

Lestat’s loyal companion Mojo might not have saved anyone from a burning building last year, but he has a role yet to play for his doting master and his master’s lover. Lestat has a gift for Louis.
Also: As soon as they returned from the Rio trip, David announced that he was going off on his own pilgrimage to settle mortal affairs and such. Lestat was shocked and injured, thinking that he finally had his little coven together, and tried to invite himself – claiming that he’d set up all the trusts for himself to keep his fortune flowing. He even wheedled David that there was much he didn’t know. Louis had come to Lestat privately and persuaded him that David needed the time alone and Lestat sulked for a few days before rallying and even being relieved.

Marius stilled. Due to the way he’d pressed Daniel into the bed, Daniel could feel just how still he’d become, in every muscle of his ancient form. Daniel thought that, perhaps, that answered that question.
Marius’ own answer to the question, however, was to press himself even further against and into Daniel into what, with most other people, would have been a decidedly filthy grind. With Marius, it was just…elegant. Or it would have been. Daniel knew Marius well enough to know when he was being intentionally distracted..

Marius ground deeply into him again, but Daniel could feel the tension in the older vampire. As Marius started to drag himself slowly back out of Daniel’s body for the next thrust, he finally spoke.

He sounded wrecked, and not the way Daniel liked someone fucking him to sound wrecked. Daniel sighed, and this time it wasn’t due to the next calculatedly slow penetration.

AU where the trial in IWTV season 2 didn't happen but pretty much everything else did. Claudia is alive (yay!). No one knows Lestat's alive. Louis breaks up with Armand (facillitated by Daniel still) after remembering his attempt, how Armand treated him after and the real ending of the 1973 interview. He realizes they're an awful match even without the murder plot (who'd have thought pimp x UNWILLING sex worker/slave would be a good ship dynamic? No hate, love Loumand, but they're awful for each other). Louis finds Claudia after ditching Armand and they basically resume their tour de the world from the 40s, and somehow end up in Washington.

Claudia and Madeleine talk about their relationship status post the "Is it romantic?" "No" "Not yet" scene. This is mostly relationship negotiation and discussion of vampirism, but they do take a break to have sex.
They could have been so happy together.
