There are few feelings quite like the bitterness of the July heat. Every July 4th for the last five years had been the same, put on his best clothes and cram into the sea of children in the square. It gets muggy in the square, squished against all those sweating bodies. A hum of energy zips through the crowd, zapping each person and moving to the next, electrifying them. If observed long enough one would come to realize every member of the crowd is murmuring in excitement. Cato is addicted to that energy. It flows through him, reaching the tips of his fingers and toes, shocking his skin every time he bumps into the person next to him. A thrill goes up his spine as he considers the crowd. This energy is for him.
