He couldn't help but wonder why someone would try to kill her, for a moment he thought maybe it had been one of his siblings hunting her.
"Who is trying to kill you?" He questioned. leaning down to look into her eyes.
"My father. My father is going to kill me." With those words his eyes darkened. He straightened for a moment, trying to collect himself. Willing the storm inside him to clam. He could hear the footsteps approaching rapidly, He bent down to speak to the child again. Warm eyes meeting her frightened ones.
"Worry not, I will take care of it." He told her. She looked at him as if she couldn't believe that someone was really going to help her.
"You will?"
" Yes," He spoke as he stood back up and his eyes darkened again with such anger and regret. "No father should treat their child like that."
Then he was gone, as if he vanished from thin air and she was left with the clam water of the lake being lit up by the moon. -
