He’d left the safety of Stark Tower and Nat and the rest of SHIELD and the Avengers to chase a ghost halfway around the world. Even without a body, no one believed that Phil Coulson could have survived being stabbed in the chest and twenty-five seconds of grainy surveillance footage hadn’t been able to convince them otherwise. Clint didn’t know if it was grief or the left over insanity from Loki’s brainwashing, but he’d been convinced that Phil had somehow survived.

The why doesn't matter so much as the what, and the what is this: Dean is pretty sure he's going completely, certifiably insane. Sure, he hasn't started wearing all his clothes inside out, and he still showers on a regular basis (anyways, that's not crazy, just a little eccentric); but there's no getting around the fact that he just threw away his life, his career, and his reputation by dragging out his mom's old necromancy book and summoning a Class A Forbidden Entity to his attic. A cranky one, too. With horrendous bed-head.

Methos is Death in a hawaiian shirt, except when he's wearing a kilt. An innocent arthropod is briefly ill-used. Legs or no legs, a jarhead is never defenseless, even if his horse turns out not to speak Marine. A number of people get killed (some more often than others), and is it better to bring a gun to a swordfight, or a sword to a gunfight? Besides which, everyone seems to want a piece of Joe Dawson (one way or the other), and who can blame them...
A rollicking romp in which Our Heroes are made of BAMF, and frequently also made of hilarious fail - sometimes at the same time. The Joe & Methos Show in the first third alone is well worth the price of admission. I laughed to the point of abdominal pain twice.
