Summary
It's the eighth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the boldest type of conflict on offer is chess. It's non-dangerous (in theory), a way to bring back inter-house relations, and a grateful distraction from the pain and grief each carries from the past. Hermione Granger and Pansy Parkinson's game has been the most anticipated of the season (each of them having brutally knocked out the entire student population with ease), and the time has finally come to show face. Their reasons for playing? Ambiguous. How they feel about each other? Even more puzzling. And the result of the game? Scarily inconclusive.
