“So Chuuya will stop being miserable,” Dazai said instead, defaulting to insult as camouflage.
Chuuya snorted. “You’re one to talk.”
Dazai glanced down. “I’m always miserable. It’s different.”

The new boy seemed to understand, because he moved to sit right next to Dazai. The latter froze, unsure how to react. He actually understood that?
He thought for a few seconds, then an idea crossed his mind. It looks like sign language…He knew Odasaku had learned sign language and mastered it. His uncle had taught him the basics, but Dazai had never taken the time to go further.
He shot another glance at the redhead, who was already focused on his notebook. Wait… could he be…?
